Joining Tradesformers is EASY! Our process matches students with the best fit for their individual skills and interests.
1 ATTEND AN INFORMATION SESSION
Your high school will hold an information session which will provide you with additional information and answer any questions you may have. If you cannot attend, be sure to notify your school’s Career Development Coordinator.
2 ATTEND AN OPEN HOUSE EVENT WITH A PARENT OR GUARDIAN
Our open house event is an opportunity for your parent or guardian to gain a better understanding of what the Tradesformers program entails. With career counselors, industry professionals and our current Tradesformers apprentices on hand to discuss the program in great detail, this is the perfect opportunity to decide if Tradesformers is right for you.
3 COMPLETE & SUBMIT THE APPLICATION & REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Complete the application carefully and all required documents. Return these to your school’s Career Development Coordinator for review. If qualified, you will be selected by one (or more) of our industry partners for the orientation process. Applications are due by March 15th.
4 ATTEND ORIENTATION
If invited, our industry partner will schedule an orientation session in which you will learn more about the company. In this 2-evening event you’ll be introduced to key staff and become familiar with some of the tasks associated with your new trade and position.
5 OBTAIN AN INTERVIEW WITH AN INDUSTRY PARTNER
In the interview process, the industry partner will determine the best position at which you will begin, while assessing your personality and skill level. You may be introduced to your supervisor and other staff members who will be training and working with you.
6 BEGIN WORK AS A PRE-APPRENTICE
As a pre-apprentice you’ll be working and learning alongside some of the most skilled and knowledgeable professionals in the industry. Your on-the-job training combined with classroom instruction will begin preparing you for highly skilled and specialized occupations. The Tradesformers staff will continue to work with you as you progress.
