Who may participate? In order to be considered as a high school pre-apprentice, a student must meet the following criteria:
- Be a high school junior; program begins the summer of your senior year
- Minimum of a 2.0 GPA and have few courses needed to graduate
- Be able to work 10-15 hours per week and complete graduation requirements
- CTE pathway completer or on track to complete in Automotive, Carpentry, STEM, Welding or Woodworking
- Acceptable high school attendance and discipline record
- Be willing to make a firm commitment to the Tradesformers program
- Be able to pass a drug screening and background check
- Have a NC drivers license and reliable transportation by June of the year you are applying

Tuition waivers are available for high school students who will enter an apprenticeship program while they are still in school. This waiver can be applied toward further education and training opportunities
Applications are due to Career Development Coordinators the Tuesday before Thanksgiving Break.
