Tradesformer Liaison-Thomas Brewer, President/Owner

What led you to become a part of the Tradesformers program?

There is currently a significant demand for skilled trade workers in the electrical sector, coupled with a shortage of professionals.  This makes the Tradesformer program a fantastic opportunity to inform young adults that a career in the trades can be fulfilling over a lifetime and when pursued earnestly can be both advantageous and lucrative.

How long have you been a part of this initiative?

This is our first year.

While in their apprenticeship, what will the student being doing at Advance Mechanical?

Throughout the apprenticeship the student will be involved in a blend of practical work experience and theoretical education.  They will be supervised by a skilled electrician who will instruct them on fundamental skills in the electrical field, ranging from the basic use of tools and safety to the installation of lighting and outlets.

After the apprenticeship is over, what job opportunities will the apprentice have?

Upon completing the apprenticeship they can advance into our four- year apprenticeship program in partnership with Pitt Community College to achieve a NC accredited apprenticeship certification in the electrical field.
